Raingrown fruit initiative saves 1.6 billion litres of water

A Dutch project that exclusively sources avocados and oranges from regions where water supply relies solely on natural rainfall saved an estimated 1.6 billion liters of water in 2025, according to its supporters. This amount is equivalent to the total daily water consumption of approximately 11 million people in Europe.
