The European Commission, through the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF), has reported a batch of Hass avocados from South Africa containing levels of Prochloraz twenty times higher than the maximum allowed limit. This fungicide, banned in the European Union since 2022, is prohibited in the EU due to its potential health risks.
