Biological control, 'lifeline' for bananas
"There are fewer and fewer active ingredients available and they are less and less effective". This phrase could be applied to practically any crop that comes to mind. But in this case, we are talking about a very localised and unique one, the Canary Island banana.
In the EU, since 2014, the mandatory application of Integrated Pest Management has been obligatory, which means that priority must be given
to the banana crop in the Canary Islands.

"Fruit Today" magazine is a valuable source of information for the fresh produce industry. Its aim is to connect fruit producers from Southern Europe with European import and distribution channels. The articles cover the entire value chain of the fruit and vegetable trade, as well as companies operating in the industry. The magazine has a yearly print run of 5,000 copies, distributed in countries such as Spain, Germany, the UK, Italy, the Netherlands, France, Eastern Europe, Chile, and Peru. It is distributed through both direct subscriptions and free distribution at major European trade fairs.
