"Costa Rica currently produces and exports about 1.2 million boxes of bananas per year, from approximately 40,200 hectares concentrated mainly in the Atlantic region of Limón," says Marcial Chaverri, CEO of Corbana, the organization representing Costa Rican banana producers and exporters.
