Belgium: First BelOrta strawberries of the season sold
Every year, BelOrta sells around 10,000 tonnes of strawberries. The majority of the strawberries are grown on substrate, with only around a third still grown outdoors. Although Sonata often comes first, Elsanta, Sonsation, Portola, Malling Centenary and Elegance remain the most important varieties grown and marketed.
