Fewer and fewer strawberries are coming from open-field cultivation in Lower Saxony. For 2024, around 22,200 tons of strawberries are expected to be produced in open fields. This would be 14.7% less than the previous year. This decrease in the harvest quantity is mainly due to a continuous reduction of productive open-field areas.
