Ontario strawberry growers are requesting increased support from the provincial government.

The growers in Southern Ontario have started harvesting field-grown strawberries. "This means that fresh strawberries are already available from the Niagara region and also the Chatham-Kent/Leamington area," says Morris Gervais of Barrie Hill Farms in Springwater, Ontario, pointing out that reports suggest a good yield.
