What are the prices for buying currants?

The average price of black currants at purchasing points fluctuated, in the second half of June this year, between 7.00 and 8.00 PLN/kg. It can be considered relatively stable. Furthermore, many purchasing entities (especially those that initially offered higher prices) maintained their offers at the same level.

Even less variability was shown in the prices of colorful currants purchased during the same period. The average price remained at 1.60 PLN/kg. As reported on the pages of fresh-market.pl, this season, as usual, the market for colorful industrial currants is much calmer than in the case of black currants. Interest is limited, but there are significant differences in prices among various sellers. Moreover, there is still a noticeable variation in the prices of black currants.

Currently, black currants' purchasing prices for processing are mostly in the range of 6.00-8.80 PLN/kg. The difference between the lowest and highest prices is significant. This is mainly a regional difference - where there are more fruits, processors try to source the raw material cheaper. There are no significant differences between the prices of currants for crates and for freezing.

In the case of red currants, current purchasing prices range from 1.20 to 2.00 PLN/kg, but it seems that more and more entities that offered these low prices are shifting their offers upwards. Now, there are few purchasing points with a price of 1.20 PLN/kg. More often it is 1.50-1.60 PLN/kg.

Consistently, when it comes to black currants, there are many sales offers with initial prices well above the levels described above. Most producers want to sell these fruits for 10.00-11.00 PLN/kg, and hand-picked currants for 12.00 PLN/kg, or even 13.00 PLN/kg.
