From 2030, only recyclable packaging is to be used. Certain single-use packaging is to be banned from 2030, e.g. for unprocessed fresh fruit and vegetables or single portions, e.g. for sugar in the catering industry. However, the member states and the European Parliament still have to vote on this, and according to agency reports
