The Drewry World Container Index (WCI) composite index increased by 2% to $2,208 per 40ft container, which is 79% lower than the previous pandemic peak of $10,377 in September 2021. Nevertheless, the index was 55% higher than the 2019 average of $1,420 before the pandemic. The year-to-date (YTD) average composite index ended at $2,993 per 40ft container, which is $105 higher than the previous figure.
