Seed crops, boom in Romagna
The Emilia-Romagna breadbasket is losing ground: cultivated areas will decrease in 2024, from 250 to 220 thousand hectares in total. The regional Confagricoltura (Farmers' Confederation) estimates a more accentuated drop for durum wheat than for soft wheat, in the order of -15-20%, configuring a scenario that is decidedly against the trend of recent years.
