Wild chimpanzees in Côte d'Ivoire and Uganda consume the equivalent of a bottle of beer's worth of alcohol daily by eating ripe, naturally fermented fruits such as figs and plums, according to a new study. Researchers from the University of California, Berkeley, suggest that this behavior supports the concept of the "drunken monkey."
