France asks the EU to ban the import of fruit and vegetables treated with thiacloprid

As part of the measures announced by French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal to support the agricultural sector and contain farmers' protests, France asked the European Commission on 21 February to suspend the sale on the European market of fruit and vegetables treated with thiacloprid.

Thiacloprid, a neonicotinoid insecticide, is banned in France
