Fifteen fruit processing companies participating in a state support program accepted over 40,000 tons of low-quality apples, as reported by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia. The initiative resulted in generating more than GEL 12 million, which is roughly equivalent to US$4.5 million.
