Germany imports the most fruits and vegetables in the EU.

In 2023, according to Eurostat, a total of around 43.5 million tons of fruits and vegetables were imported into the countries of the EU-27. This was an increase of 2% compared to 2022, following a decrease in the previous year. Germany accounted for over 20% of this total quantity and was thus by far the most important.
