Hungary plans to reduce the value-added tax (VAT) on fruits and vegetables to 5%.

The incoming Agriculture Minister of Hungary, Szabolcs Bóna, has presented a reform program that includes policies on the food market, agriculture, drought management, and land ownership regulations. Following the opening session of the new parliament, Bóna stated that the government aims to decrease VAT on fresh products.
