Albania is increasing its dependence on imported food, as indicated by INSTAT data showing a 19% increase in food import volumes in the first quarter of 2026. The import of fresh vegetables and fruits also saw double-digit growth, with a rise of around 15%. Vegetable imports experienced a significant increase as well.
