Italy will start planting new RubyRed kiwifruit from 2026.

A three-year planting program for Zespri's RubyRed kiwifruit will commence next year in orchards located south of Rome. In February, the Zespri board approved the commercial release of RubyRed in Italy, paving the way for the planting of 170 hectares from 2026 to 2028. This program will utilize a portion of the 1,000-hectare land.
