Ravatomanga, a close ally of former president Andry Rajoelina, has long held a strong position in Madagascar's lychee trade through his company Sodiat. Towards the end of last month, workers at the port of Tamatave started loading the first of three ships destined for Europe. However, operations were hindered by heavy storms, causing delays in loading pallets.
