Almeria starts the watermelon season with 2,500 hectares less than before.
According to the study carried out by ASAJA-Almeria, the reduction in the area under watermelon cultivation, whose first fruits in the province are already reaching the market, is generalised in all the producing areas.
In the Almeria and Nijar area, a slight decrease in watermelon area (10-15%) is forecast compared to the previous season. As far as the
"Fruit Today" magazine is a valuable source of information for the fresh produce industry. Its aim is to connect fruit producers from Southern Europe with European import and distribution channels. The articles cover the entire value chain of the fruit and vegetable trade, as well as companies operating in the industry. The magazine has a yearly print run of 5,000 copies, distributed in countries such as Spain, Germany, the UK, Italy, the Netherlands, France, Eastern Europe, Chile, and Peru. It is distributed through both direct subscriptions and free distribution at major European trade fairs.
