Muskmelons from Japan seized at Taiwanese border due to pesticide residues
Shipments of muskmelons from Japan have been seized at Taiwan's border, after being found to contain excessive pesticide residues. The 56 kilograms of muskmelons, imported by Taipei-based JIT Co., were confiscated after testing of samples from the shipment on Oct. 2 detected 0.06 parts per million (ppm) of fenitrothion, exceeding the allowable limit of 0.01 ppm.
