"The mild winter, the empty market and an early Easter are good for melon sales".

Demand for melons from overseas is currently high. "So far we have had a fairly mild winter, which favours consumption," says Martijn van Gaal of Dutch fruit and vegetable importer and exporter C. Gottmann. "Supply from Brazil is proving difficult and that opens the way for melons from Central America."
