These were 1,920 tons, or 36% less than the previous year. Hessian agriculture thus produced 3% of all German edible pumpkins. In 2023, 129 agricultural farms in Hesse cultivated Hokkaido, butternut, and other edible pumpkins on 217 hectares. The cultivated area thus increased.
