Pears are grown on an area of just over 10,000 hectares by 1,162 farms there. This information comes from a factsheet from the industry association GroentenFruitHuis. The most dominant variety is Conference, followed by Doyenne du Comice and Alexander Lucas, which are roughly equal in popularity.
