Industrial raspberry prices

Just yesterday we wrote on the pages of fresh-market.pl portal that the prices of industrial raspberries resisted dynamic decreases similar to those we observe in wholesale prices of dessert raspberries. Up until yesterday afternoon.

On the fresh market, as we reported, wholesale raspberry prices dropped by almost one-third. At the same time, corrections in the prices of raspberries for processing were going in the opposite direction, and the average purchase prices of these fruits increased by 3 to 7 percent. But that's in the past now. The reality, or more precisely processors and purchases from the Lublin Voivodeship, decided to make that text outdated even before the long weekend.

In the Lublin region, there were significant and sudden price reductions in offers to purchase industrial raspberries. Right before the extended weekend. Evidently, processors from that region of Poland decided to take advantage of the situation and lowered prices by even more than one Polish zloty per kilogram.

Yesterday morning, the purchase prices for raspberries for processing were mostly 7.00-9.00 PLN/kg (1.63-2.10 EUR/kg) for higher quality raspberries for freezing and 7.00-8.00 PLN/kg (1.63-1.86 EUR/kg) for lower quality ones. Now the averages have gone down because purchases from the Lublin Voivodeship lowered prices to the level of 6.00-6.50 PLN/kg (1.40-1.51 EUR/kg). The dominant offers are in the range of 6.00-6.30 PLN/kg (1.40-1.47 EUR/kg). The price of 6.50 PLN/kg (1.51 EUR/kg) is rare. The question is whether this significant correction, around 7-9 percent, will prove to be effective in the long run?

Finally, let's add that in other regions of the country where raspberry production is not as concentrated as in Lublin, raspberry purchase prices do not show such a significant downward trend for now. And in sales offers placed by producers, prices ranging from 10.00-12.00 PLN/kg (2.33-2.80 EUR/kg) can be found.
