Raspberry prices are still low.

The prices of Polish dessert raspberries remain in a clear slump, although it should be noted that there has been some improvement in recent days. Currently, the wholesale prices of these fruits on a larger scale are mostly in the range of 14.0-22.00 PLN/kg (3.28-5.15 EUR/kg), which represents a 12.5 percent increase in just a few days.

However, we are still far from the situation before the last price drop, which was caused by a seasonal factor - an increase in supply with the start of the autumn raspberry harvest. The issue is that not only more domestic fruits started to appear on our market at that time, but imports also increased. This led to a significant decrease, as visible in our chart.

Now prices have slightly strengthened, thanks to the weather. However, there is still pressure from the demand side to keep these prices in lower value ranges. Will this succeed? The key factors here will be the weather and the fruit supplies from Ukrainian exporters. Remember that the situation in the fresh market is largely derived from what is happening in the processing sector. Prices there are currently maintained at a lower level (starting from 6.00 PLN/kg [1.41 EUR/kg]). On the other hand, in small wholesale, we see more decisive price increases, with the upper limit exceeding 30.00 PLN/kg [7.03 EUR/kg] again.
