Cherries in stores have higher prices again.

2024-07-19 09:15

Last week there was a downward correction in cherry prices at most Polish buying points. Above all, cherries for freezing became cheaper, and to a lesser extent, fruits bought for compote. However, prices for cherries for pressing remained unchanged, resulting in a decrease in price differences between these assortments. On the fresh-market.pl portal, commenting on those discounts, we wrote that it was a temporary phenomenon and that buying prices would quickly rise again.

A few days have passed, and those predictions have been confirmed. There is a general increase in industrial cherry prices in all purchased assortments. So how are cherry buying prices shaping up today?

Cherries for freezing are being bought for 5.40-5.80 PLN/kg (1.26-1.35 EUR/kg) depending on the time of delivery. This is an increase of nearly 10 percent compared to the lowest level last week. Cherries for compote currently have prices of 5.50-6.00 PLN/kg (1.28-1.40 EUR/kg) at buying points, representing an increase of almost 12 percent.

Cherries for juice pressing currently have prices of 4.00-5.00 PLN/kg (0.93-1.16 EUR/kg), which marks an increase of nearly 29 percent compared to the previous week. In the case of these fruits, as mentioned earlier, there was no downward correction. Thus, this category experienced the highest relative price increase without any prior discounts. Consequently, this led to further reduction in price differences between these assortments at buying points.
