A decade ago, Fruitnet reported that Israeli grape exports were declining. The exports fell from 7,000 tonnes in 2006 to 5,000 in 2010, and further down to 3,000 tonnes in 2014. The decline was attributed to various factors such as adverse exchange rates, seasonal EU-imposed taxes for imports after July 31, and price competition with Egypt.
