The Biosecurity New Zealand Commissioner, Mike Inglis, highlighted that the $2.4 million spent on a recent biosecurity operation in South Auckland is relatively small when compared to the potential economic consequences of a pest invasion. Last month, an Oriental fruit fly was found in the Mangere/Papatoetoe area.
