Blueberries

Winter is obviously not the period of a significant presence of highbush blueberry on the Polish fresh fruit market. In January and February, it has to be imported from far away - from the southern hemisphere. First, blueberries from Peru and then from Chile dominate these imports. read more

The second half of January brought some improvement in the supply of imported highbush blueberries available on the Polish market. This refers mainly to the retail offer available via commercial chains. read more

We analyse the CSO data for the whole year 2020 and the production of frozen vegetables and fruit and vegetable juices as well as vegetable pickles. In this period, we can see a decrease in the production sector of juices, frozen vegetables and especially frozen fruits in relation to 2019. Only in the category of vegetable pickles the CSO recorded a year-on-year increase in production. read more
