Destatis: 19,500 tonnes of asparagus were imported in 2022 - almost 29 percent less than in 2021
A not insignificant part of the asparagus consumed in Germany during the asparagus season does not come from domestic fields, but from abroad. Last year, 19,500 t of the asparagus were imported fresh or chilled into Germany - almost 29 % less than in the previous year, according to the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis).
