Last year, the German company EW Group acquired the Spanish plant breeding company Planasa in order to expand its portfolio to include plants. Planasa's nursery, which is one of the largest in the world according to commercial director Manuel Garcés, was established in 1973. It initially focused on white and green asparagus, and later expanded to include endives.
