The German container line Hapag-Lloyd has implemented a peak season surcharge (PSS) for shipments originating from the West Coast of Latin America, Central America, and the Caribbean destined for North Europe and the Mediterranean. The surcharge amounts to US$900 per reefer container and is applicable to all sailings.
