Tamil Nadu vegetable prices skyrocket due to heat and unseasonal rains

Summer heat and unseasonal rains have affected the production of tomatoes and other vegetables in Tamil Nadu. This has led to an alarming rise in the prices of staple veggies in the state. On Monday, tomato prices touched Rs 100 per kg-mark in retail markets and the price of beans hit an all-time high of Rs 120 per kg. Also, ginger was sold at Rs 200 per kg at the Koyambedu market.
