Chinese cabbage continues the price trend.
As we have already written on the pages of fresh-market.pl, the second half of August this year brought a clear reversal of price trends on the wholesale market of Chinese cabbage in Poland. After a very dynamic increase, an equally dynamic price drop followed. However, importantly, this drop did not bring these prices to a level that could be called average, let alone low.
Furthermore, in the first week of the current month, the prices of "Chinese cabbage" stopped falling and stabilized at an average level of 4.10-4.25 PLN/kg, which is still very high for this phase of the season. However, this stabilization has just ended, and the prices of Chinese cabbage have returned to continuing the previous trend. We can see this on the chart below.
Currently, the selling prices of Chinese cabbage ("on the spot") in large wholesale are in the range of 2.80-3.80 PLN/kg most often. This is more than half cheaper than during the peak in August. However, as seen in the chart, these prices are still significantly above the quotations from the same period in the previous five years. According to our price monitoring at the fresh-market.pl editorial office, they remain record-breaking compared to at least the last seventeen seasons, with the highest average price in this period, in the notation from around September 25, being 3.00 PLN/kg in 2015.
