Germany: Number of vegetable farms continues to decline

This is a decrease of 4.4%. Since 2012, almost one in five businesses has closed down. The total vegetable growing area has increased by 3.2% to 126,800 hectares in 2024, and the total harvest quantity has increased by 6.1%. However, the development is mainly in favor of field vegetable crops.
