Wholesale prices of beans are starting the week with a big change.

Just a week ago, the average current selling price of green beans in large wholesale was below the threshold of the average from the previous five seasons. Such a relation to the past always indicates an unfavorable development of the situation from the producers' point of view.

However, just a few days ago, the green bean market in Poland looks completely different. The weather in the past week had a decidedly negative impact on the current availability of this vegetable in the national wholesale market, and this was reflected in the prices. The current week, which is the 31st week of this year, started with a significant change in green bean prices, caused by a drop in its current supply.

Over the weekend, the selling prices of green beans in large wholesale increased from 5.00-8.00 PLN (1.17-1.87 EUR)/kg to 7.00-10.00 PLN (1.64-2.34 EUR)/kg. And this was not the first increase. Last week, we had an increase from the level of 4.50-7.00 PLN (1.05-1.64 EUR)/kg to the aforementioned 5.00-8.00 PLN (1.17-1.87 EUR)/kg. This was a precursor to these later, more decisive changes in price realities. In total, we have a price increase of 48 percent. And, as shown on our chart above, the current average price has exceeded the levels from all five previous years. For the first time this season.
