The first Coeur de Boeuf tomatoes were grown by Wim Vertommen and his sons Ferre and Brecht (Den Overkant in Sint-Katelijne-Waver) and purchased by Frans Michiels & Sons (from Sint-Katelijne-Waver). The family business has been specializing in the cultivation of this tomato since 2011.
