The National Cooperative Consumers' Federation of India, working under the Union Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, has started selling tomatoes at a subsidized rate of Rs 65 per kg in Delhi. This action was taken in response to the increased retail prices, which had risen to Rs 120-130.
