The growth of asparagus is very temperature-dependent. As long as it is below 8°C, the shoots do not sprout. Growth slowly begins at 10°C. As temperatures rise, growth suddenly accelerates. At 13°C, they grow 2 to 3 cm, at 17°C, five centimeters per day.
